Maryland Working Families will have a Visibility Table in the Student Center Lobby on Tuesday, September 20 from 11:00 AM until 3:45 PM.
Maryland Working Families is a grassroots independent political organization fighting for a government that represents the values and works for the needs of Maryland’s working families.Some of the statewide work we are engaged in has included fighting for earned sick days, fair scheduling and livable wages, as well as successfully achieving pay equity last legislative session. MDWF is based in Baltimore, where we are closely involved in local campaigns such as the fight for a citywide $15hr minimum wage and the process of slowing down the Port Covington development until an equitable deal is reached for city residents.
They are very interested in coming to campus to talk with UB students about being engaged in local advocacy/justice work while still attending school, and possible volunteer or work opportunities with our organization.
