Join us for a 1-mile walk and festivities in your reddest high heels to raise awareness of gender-based violence! The WBA has taken the initiative this year to generate greater awareness of domestic violence, sexual assault on university campuses, street harassment, and violence against the LGBTQ community, specifically those who identify as Trans or gender-fluid. This event is Cosponsored by OUTLAW and the UB SBA. What: 1-mile walk from Gordon Plaza, up the sidewalks of Charles St, and back down. An After-party with food, (non-alcoholic) drinks, a silent auction, music, tables for our community charities/partners and various speakers. What to Bring: Yourselves, Red high-heels, positive and forward-thinking signs that are relevant to the topic, and your wallets! (This walk is super fun when even our male participants chose to wear the heels. You can rent heels from http://www.walkamileinhershoes.org/Store/store.html, OR we recommend going to a good will or salvation army store. If you cannot wear/find red heels, you can wear a different color! If you do not wish to wear heels, please join us anyways!!) When: Oct 29th, 1-4PM Where: Meet at Gordon Plaza, we will start the walk together around 1:30. Who: EVERYONE! no matter your age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, religion, etc. Benefitting charities: House of Ruth, and [LGBTQ organization TBD] Any questions?
