Join the Student Events Board on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Learning Commons Town Hall for a night of inspiration. Four speakers will tell their stories about overcoming adversity and what led them to great success. Lisa Phillips, MBA graduate and owner of a successful workforce training company; Laura Neuman, former Anne Arundel County executive and current member of the Merrick School of Business Dean's Advisory Board; Chris Wilson, UB student and nationally recognized author, speaker and entrepreneur; and UB President Kurt L. Schmoke, former mayor of Baltimore, will all present their stories in an unprecedented speaker series. There will be networking opportunities following the event. The You Know Us Speaker Series offers an interesting take on how UB cultivates leaders of all kinds. In each edition of the series, you’ll learn what it takes to overcome personal adversity, set goals for your career, refine your unique skills, and become the person you know you want to be – and who others want to know as well.
