Description:

The Supreme Court this term will review Mississippi's law banning abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy, and the result could mean an end to abortion rights as we have known them since Roe v. Wade became the law of the land in 1973.

Prof. Jill Morrison of Georgetown Law Center will discuss the Mississippi and Texas state laws and how they impact reproductive rights. Baltimore Law Prof. Michele E. Gilman will discuss how the Texas law uses surveillance methods to identify patients, and examine the broader context of surveilling women's bodies.

Law alumna Jenn Mahan, J.D. ’19, will discuss the regulation of abortion providers from her perspective as a fellowship attorney with Regulatory Assistance for Abortion Providers (RAAP), a division of Resources for Abortion Deliver (RAD).

Associate Dean Margaret E. Johnson will moderate the discussion, including providing an overview of the constitutional law governing abortion access. The webinar will be recorded for later viewing.
