Congressional Black Caucus Hosts 'American Dream on Hold' Forum at UB, June 23

The Congressional Black Caucus and Democratic Party members of the Joint Economic Committee will host a public forum, "The American Dream on Hold: Economic Challenges in the African American Community," at the University of Baltimore on Tuesday, June 23, from 9:30 a.m. to noon in UB's H. Mebane Turner Learning Commons, 1415 Maryland Ave. This field hearing is free and open to the public; an R.S.V.P. is required (details listed below).
Congressman G. K. Butterfield, chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney, ranking Democrat on the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee, and Congressman Elijah E. Cummings, ranking member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, will lead a discussion on the impact of economic challenges and persistent inequities facing African American communities across the country.
These officials will be joined by members of the Congressional Black Caucus, the Joint Economic Committee, House Democratic members of the Maryland Delegation, and community leaders.
