Four UB Students Earn Cybersecurity Scholarships

Four students enrolled in the University of Baltimore's Master of Science in Forensic Science-High Technology Crime program have been awarded cybersecurity scholarships courtesy of T.E.N., a technology and information security executive networking and relationship-marketing firm; ISE Talent, an information security recruiting firm; and ICMCP, the International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals.
Dale McClinton, a first-year student in the program, is one of two inaugural recipients of the Marci McCarthy Cybersecurity Certification Scholarship, which provides $5,000 over two years to help talented, high-achieveing, minority women who are active ICMCP members and have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership skills and a commitment to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math careers, including cybersecurity, digital forensics and information assurance.
Randi Brown, a second-year student, Shaneik Downs and Ida Jadali, both first-year students, each received $5,000 scholarships from the ICMCP Cybersecurity Scholarship Program, which also recognizes the nation's highest achieving female, veteran, African American, Hispanic American, Native American, Asian Pacific, Asian Indian or sub-Saharan African students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership skills and a commitment to STEM careers.
All four students were presented their awards during the ICMCP's 2016 National Conference of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals, held March 23-24 in Washington, D.C.
