Roger Hartley, dean of the University of Baltimore College of Public Affairs, tells WBAL-TV that the recent testimony of former FBI Director James Comey is "a huge development" in U.S. history, and a likely stepping up of public awareness of the federal investigation into various aspects of the 2016 election.
"With Watergate, it was about the Republican Party versus the Democratic Party," Hartley says. "Here, it's about Russia and a foreign nation actually influencing an election, which makes this a national security issue beyond the simple issue of law. The nation is glued to this, they know it's a big deal, it's an important, important investigation."
