The University of Baltimore's M.F.A. in Creative Writing & Publishing Arts Reading Series will present fiction writer Joseph Scapellato and memoirist Jeannie Vanasco on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. in the UB Student Center's Bogomolny Room, 21 W. Mt. Royal Ave. The reading is free and open to the public.
Scapellato is the author of the short story collection Big Lonesome. His fiction has appeared in Kenyon Review, Gulf Coast, Post Road, PANK, Unsaid, and other literary magazines, and has been anthologized in Harper Perennial's Forty Stories, Gigantic Books' Gigantic Worlds: An Anthology of Science Flash Fiction, and &NOW's The Best Innovative Writing.
Vanasco is the author of The Glass Eye. Her writing has appeared in the Believer, the New Yorker, the Times Literary Supplement, Tin House, and elsewhere. She teaches writing at Towson University.
