University of Baltimore two-time alumna Shilesha Bamberg, B.S. '14, M.S. '17, is featured in a new video on Jemma Everyday, a website that provides information and insights for women in all stages of life.
Bamberg, who works as a legislative aide in the U.S. Senate, is focused on human rights, child advocacy, victims' rights, and gender-based violence.
"Shilesha Bamberg works every day to defend our nation's most vulnerable," the website says in introducing the video. "As a survivor of a traumatic childhood marred by abuse and neglect, Shilesha knew that making the sacrifices necessary to secure a high-quality education could help change the trajectory of her life. Today, Shilesha uses her powerful voice to help others in her community and beyond struggling under the weight of abuse."

Bamberg began her career as a legislative fellow sponsored by the Women's Congressional Policy Institute. After the fellowship, she accepted an aide position.
At the University of Baltimore's Spring 2017 Commencement, Bamberg delivered remarks as the representative of the graduate class.
