The upcoming Baltimore Book Festival, Sept. 28-30 in the Inner Harbor, will feature a number of University of Baltimore students, alumni and faculty, all of whom have authored their own original works.

- The Weekly Reader Presents: Baltimore Authors Literary Trivia
Friday, Sept. 28, at 5 p.m., on the Inner Harbor Stage
Join Marion Winik, associate professor in the Klein Family School of Communications Design, and Lisa Morgan, the hosts of WYPR's popular book review podcast, The Weekly Reader, to play a trivia quiz about local Baltimore authors past and present. Surprise celebrity guests will include several UB faculty giving away signed books. - New Releases, Curated by Marion Winik, Author of The Baltimore Book of the Dead

Joining Prof. Winik on the stage will be novelists Evan Balkan, Heather Huddleston, and UB alumni Victoria Kennedy and Anthony Moll. - Mason Jar Press Presents

An assortment of new works published by Mason Jar, including UB alumnus Anthony Moll. - Kondwani Fidel Presents Hummingbirds in the Trenches
Sunday, Sept. 30, 3 p.m., in the Radical Bookfair Pavilion
In the essays and lyrics of Hummingbirds in the Trenches, M.F.A. candidate Kondwani Fidel's essential voice presents a searing account of what it means to be young and black in Baltimore and America, a testament of hope booming out from the depths of poverty and despair. - University Writers Program

Baltimore is a city filled with remarkable universities and colleges, most of which include a vibrant creative writing program. We’re lucky to have these hubs of creativity in our community. The University Writers’ Program, now in its fourth year, brings together student writers from 10 area schools – Coppin, Goucher, Johns Hopkins, Loyola, MICA, Morgan, Stevenson, Towson, the University of Baltimore, and UMBC. From UB, fiction writer Arao Ameny and poet Rachel Harris will be featured. - D. Watkins Presents: New Voices of Baltimore

Author and UB Professor D. Watkins introduces and leads a discussion with this generation’s most dynamic writers and artists, including Tariq Toure, Lawrence Burney, Sheri Booker, Devin Allen, Kondwani Fidel and Chin-Yer Wright. - First Look: The Baltimore Book of the Dead
Sunday, Sept 30, 5 p.m., at the Inner Harbor Stage
Prof. Marion Winik premieres her new book at this wine and cheese reception sponsored by the Baltimore Fishbowl. "Every observation is a marvel," says writer Ann Patchett. Betsy Boyd, assistant professor in the Klein Family School of Communications Design and director of the M.F.A., will introduce Winik.
