Sonce Reese, a graduate student in the University of Baltimore's Global Affairs and Human Security graduate program, participated in the Clinton Global Initiative University in Chicago on Oct 20-21. Joining more than 1,000 other college students from the U.S. and abroad, Reese worked on her proposal to more effectively manage small-scale disaster homelessness in Baltimore City.
"The CGIU was an incredible opportunity to be in a space with students and change-makers from across United States and around the world," Reese says. "My idea was accepted by CGIU and I was invited to this life-changing event. My Day of Action, an event during CGIU where we participated in community activities, included interactions with the Sweet Water Foundation and students from Brazil, Costa Rica, Germany, Switzerland, Baltimore, and Nigeria."
