The University of Baltimore has earned a "Gold School" designation as a military-friendly institution for 2022-23 from militaryfriendly.com. Out of 1,800 institutions surveyed by the website, for "leading practices, outcomes and effective programs" for military-affiliated and veteran students, 282 were selected for this top status.
According to militaryfriendly.com, institutions earning the Military Friendly Schools Awards designation were evaluated using public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. The ratings combined the institution's survey responses with public data sources. Criteria included a school's ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation and job placement rates, and other key indicators for all students, including student veterans.
"Being recognized as a military-friendly institution is important to me because I know how much we care and support our veteran and military-affiliated community," says Josiah Guthland, director of The Bob Parsons Veterans Center at UBalt. "This recognition shows the rest of the city, state and country that we provide top-notch support and services for our veteran and military-affiliated community."
