The entire UBalt community is invited to Dr. David Lingelbach's graduate entrepreneurship class to learn more about "The Innovation Process: The Case of the James Webb Space Telescope" featuring special guest speaker Marty Frederick who is the Corporate Director of Civil Space Programs at Northrop Grumman. Mr. Frederick will share the story of the telescope's innovation process and how teams of hundreds created revolutionary technology that will study every phase of cosmic history—from within our solar system to the most distant observable galaxies in the early universe.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Martin E. Frederick is a corporate director for civil space programs Northrop Grumman Corporation's Strategy and Development organization in Falls Church, Virginia, USA.
Mr. Frederick is Northrop Grumman's primary interface to executive leadership in Washington, DC on issues related to civil space activities, including Earth science, space science, human spaceflight, launch, space technology, aeronautics research and related ground systems. Mr. Frederick is also engaged with commercial, military, and international space activities related to civil space programs. Mr. Frederick is actively engaged with stakeholders in throughout the space industry, including the executive and legislative branches of government, trade associations, NGO's, and professional societies.
ABOUT THE COURSE: ENTR 750 LEADING AND MANAGING INNOVATION
This course focuses on leading and managing innovation in various organizational settings, including the for-profit, nonprofit, and public sectors. Enables students to improve habitats for organizational innovation. Includes a final team-based consulting project with organization seeking to boost its innovative capacity.
