Budgeting Best Practices/Strategies

Budgeting Best Practices/Strategies begins with a discussion of budgeting strategies, including analytical tools, agendas, priorities, and the importance of timelines. Next, in order to have meaningful involvement in budget discussions/preparation, participants will explore why financial managers must have an understanding of the priorities, vision and managerial principles which are important to their division’s leadership. Given the limited resources available during any fiscal year to address priorities, the importance of periodic reviews and ranking of priorities is also discussed.
