Description:

The Global Affairs and Human Security Student Association (GAHSSA) is an organization dedicated to the exploration of policy issues related to international relations, social and political conflict, economic issues, global health, and good governance. Through extra-curricular initiatives, GAHSSA hopes to bring new voices and different perspectives to UB and expand students’ knowledge of international affairs.  GAHSSA's Speaker Series, is just one way that the organization is fulfilling its mission to enable students to "Think Globally, Act Locally." By discussing areas of concern related to issues such as the US-Iranian nuclear deal, we are encouraging our student community to hear both sides of the debate and thereby developing a conversation that is enriched by multiple perspectives. This event is open to UB students from all majors and programs who are interested in international affairs. For information on future Speaker Series events, as well as the many other events that GAHSSA has planned this semester, like our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/GAHSSA.    About the Speaker(s) Alireza Jafarzadeh is the President and Founder of Strategic Policy Consulting, Inc., a Media Commentator on the Middle East, and author of "The Iran Threat: President Ahmadinejad and the Coming Nuclear Crisis."  Dr. Sofey Saidi is an Adjunct Professor at UB who specializes in the Middle East, global politics, and ethnic and cultural conflict.
