Due to an impact on the timeline to enter student grades, the Office of Technology Services (OTS) has been requested to move the previously announced full network outage. The outage will now take place on Friday, January 10th. All other timelines remain unchanged. Complete details and outage impacts are listed below.
Starting at 3 PM, PeopleSoft Finance will be shut down. Starting at 4:00pm, MyUB and all other related PeopleSoft services supporting admissions, financial aid, bursar, records and registration, advising, human resources and finance will be shut down. Starting at 5 PM, OTS is planning a full network outage. The operations of general campus services such as the wired network, wireless network, telephones, Internet access and all shared drives (M, R, S, T) will not be impacted until 5 PM. After that time, all of these services should be expected to be unavailable. This activity is very important as it permits OTS time to perform critical maintenance to our network equipment. This schedule was established to minimally impact the campus. Off campus access to email and Sakai will not be affected by the scheduled maintenance. The outage will run for 7 hours (3:00pm to 10:00pm). Based on the University calendar, this date is the least impactful to the community. We ask that managers plan ahead and work with employees who are active PeopleSoft users to identify work that can be performed during the 3-5 PM timeframe of the outage. Another general broadcast email message will be sent in January announcing this outage. During this outage, our backup website at UMES will be activated. - 5:00pm - The full network outage of general campus services such as the wired network, wireless network, telephones, Internet access and all shared drives (M, R, S, T) will be shut down and unavailable.
- Not effected are off-campus access to email and Sakai.
