The Maryland chapter of Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) is hosting a virtual mini AVP workshop exclusively for UBalt students!

In this 2-hour mini workshop, you'll get a taste of what AVP has to offer and learn how you can transform everyday conflicts into productive and even life-affirming interactions.

We need to get creative about conflict

Why? Because conflict is everywhere. At home, in schools, at the office, on the road, at the store, in the streets, around the world. You can easily think of examples of conflict in each of these settings, right?

That's because conflict exists any time our needs are at odds with someone else's. It could be about something as small as a minor inconvenience, or it could be about something so important that it challenges our very identity and core values.

How do YOU handle conflict?

  • Do you avoid it as much as possible?
  • Do you shut down and get quiet?
  • Do you blame othes?
  • Do you bottle up your anger until you just can't take it and explose?
  • Do you lask out or get physical?
