Our orientation is designed to familiarize you with UB. It also serves as a great opportunity for you to meet fellow students, and of course, faculty and staff members who will assist you with your transition to UB—not to mention throughout your time here.
Your first day of classes is right around the corner! Join us for New Student Orientation on Friday, Aug. 21 starting at 8 a.m.
There’s a lot you need to learn to make a successful transition to UB. This orientation is designed for you to:
- be welcomed into the UB community
- learn about college life and culture
- learn about campus resources and facilities (and where to go for what)
- get a feel for your academic requirements and how to build a path to success
- explore student services and ways to get involved
- get to know your classmates.
Orientation participation is required for all new students. If an emergency arises and you are unable to attend, please call your admission counselor or email admission@ubalt.edu to make an alternate arrangement.
We encourage you to pick up your Bee Card in the Academic Center, Room 105 prior to your orientation date. The office is open Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Note that you must be registered for classes to retrieve your Bee Card.

Note: Students attending classes at the Universities at Shady Grove also have the option of attending orientation at the Rockville, Md. campus on Thursday, Aug. 20.
