Career Choices: Plaintiffs-side Litigation

Tuesday, Nov. 9, 12 – 1 p.m. (virtual); Register here

Are you interested in Civil Rights litigation? Consumer Protection? Public interest ‘impact litigation’? Medical malpractice, product liability and toxic torts litigation? Do you want your work to feel meaningful by helping individuals?

Further, are you looking for an attorney job with 1) work-life balance (no billable hours, no ‘face time’); 2) autonomy and early responsibility (no reporting to a client who is also an attorney); 3) substantial court time; and 4) a high level of compensation (35-40% of verdicts and settlements)? Then plaintiffs-side practice may be the right fit for you! Attend this panel to learn more.

Panelists:

  • Catherine A. Dickinson, Esq., Partner, Schlachman, Belsky, Weiner & Davey, P.A.
In addition to working on medical malpractice and other significant personal injury matters, Catherine has litigated a wide range of cases arising out of sexual assault and abuse, and successfully handled the first case in Maryland against a national hotel franchise for human trafficking committed at a hotel.
  • Allen E. Honick, Esq., Associate, Whiteford, Taylor & Preston LLP
Allen manages a diverse litigation practice ranging from complex business disputes to representing plaintiffs in a variety of civil rights and general negligence matters. His recent trial successes include a $2.7 million jury verdict in a claim against a State government for civil rights violations, a $700,000 verdict for excessive force and violations of constitutional rights, a $350,000 jury verdict in a premises liability matter, and a $402,500 jury verdict for injuries caused by a vehicular crash.
  • Divya Potdar, Esq., Partner, Diva Law LLC
Divya has tried over a hundred cases throughout the State of Maryland and helped recover millions for her clients. Divya serves on the Board of Governors for the Maryland Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice. In addition, she has held numerous leadership roles in the Bar Association for Baltimore City and the Maryland State Bar Association. Most recently, she received the honor of being named one of America’s Top 100 Personal Injury Attorneys in 2021.
