Community interpreting is a growing profession that targets the sectors of health care, education, and human and social services. In the past, families and friends used to interpret in these settings. Today, federal civil rights legislation, national ethics and standards for interpreters, hospital accreditation agencies, and many state and municipal laws endorse or promote the use of qualified interpreters. If you are looking for ways to put your language skills to use, join us for a training on how to become a volunteer interpreter. By sharing your time and knowledge, you can help University of Baltimore Law School clinics, Esperanza Center and Baltimore service organizations serve the city's diverse community!
The training will cover the following topics:

- Professionalism
- Interpreting Skills and Best Practices
- Ethics
