Student Roaming Profile Discontinuation and Temporary O Drive
All student account roaming profiles will be discontinued starting May 16th after 6:00 pm. After May 16th, students will see a new, temporary, read only, network drive identified by the letter “O”. The O drive will contain copies of your Favorites and any files which were left on the Desktop. The O drive can be accessed through “My Computer” when logged on to a campus computer.
Students are advised to review the contents of the O drive and copy all wanted files to the M drive. (The M drive is personal space accessible from any campus computer and from myub.ubalt.edu and mail.ubalt.edu.).
The contents of the O drive will be available only until September 30th, 2014.
This change is being implemented to eliminate login issues. Student users will notice the following main changes:
Will no longer be able to save files to the desktop
Will no longer have a desktop background photo of their choice
IE favorites will be redirected to your M driveIf you have any questions regarding roaming profiles or the O drive, you can contact the OTS Call Center (410.837.6262) or ask a computer lab assistant in the William H. Thumel Sr. Business Center, Room 002.
