You are invited to to attend a sitting of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit at the University of Baltimore School of Law. Doors will open at 8:45 a.m., and Dean Ronald Weich will offer introductory remarks prior to the oral arguments, which begin at 9:30 a.m. Cases will be heard until noon.

The Court will head the following cases:

Renee Pryor v. United Air Lines, Incorporated: This case explores whether an employer's response to complaints of racial harassment was reasonably calculated to promptly correct and end the conduct.

U.S. v. Gary Span: This case explores whether ambiguity in Shepard-approved documents should have precluded sentencing the defendant under the Armed Career Criminal Act; and other issues.

Sammy Ussery v. Mansfield: This case explores whether the district court erred in denying correctional officers' motion for summary judgment in a Section 1983 action alleging excessive force.
