Description:

The University of Baltimore’s chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the national honor society for undergraduate and graduate students and professors in history, will host its annual conference at the University of Baltimore on Saturday, April 22. The all-day event will take place in the atrium in UB’s William H. Thumel Sr. Business Center (home of the Merrick School of Business), 11 W. Mt. Royal Ave., beginning at 9 a.m. (Breakfast and registration will take place starting at 8 a.m.) Attendance details are listed below.

For the regional meetings, students prepare and submit research papers for formal judging by professionals in the field. For some, it is an early opportunity to experience what the study of history involves and how works are assessed, based on the work’s merits, sources, collateral materials, representative data and statistics, and a number of similar factors.

Students and professors from institutions including George Washington University, St. Mary’s College of Maryland, Hood College, the University of Virginia-Wise, Towson University, McDaniel College, Bowie State University, Catholic University of America, Georgetown University, Washington College and the University of Baltimore will be in attendance.
