Emerging Voices Project concludes with a staged reading of Sharea Harris' sequel to her Black Maggies play, the first installment of the narrative of a world where balance is maintained by a secret network of black women practitioners of magic. Black Maggies was first staged in EVP 2016 just a week before Harris graduated from the Creative Writing and Publishing Arts MFA program. In addition to being an artist and performer, Harris teaches writing at UB.
