Joe Turner's Come and Gone
Wright Theater

Prof. Kimberley Lynne directs her Oral Interpretation of African-American theatrical literature in a staged reading of August Wilson's powerful play, Joe Turner's Come and Gone. The second in his cycle of plays depicting the African-American experience, Joe Turner takes place in a boardinghouse in Pittsburgh in 1911 and brings to life characters in the midst of defining their identity. The event is free and will be followed by a conversation with Professors Lynne and Dr. Diedre Badejo.
