The Library's Pre-Stats Crash Course for grad students is a series of free workshops to get you ready for graduate-level stats next semester.

     OPRE 505
     APPL 631

Let us put you at ease. The crash course is helpful. And it’s free.

  • Did you take stats as an undergrad? Great! Let’s refresh your memory and get you ready to correlate that causation again.

  • Never taken stats? WONDERFUL. Let’s get you ready for your first statistics course.

Want to know a secret? Statistics IS NOT MATH. Shhh. Don’t tell anyone. Statistics is nothing more than a way of understanding data.

Our series of three 90-minute sessions will take you through everything you need to start your journey UNDERSTANDING DATA (aka statistics).

Each session starts promptly at 7:00 pm in RLB Library lower level, BL028

Session 1: Introduction to Statistics, Frequency Distribution, & Central Tendency
October 22 & 23

Session 2: Basics of Variability & Probability and Sampling
October 29 & 30

Session 3: Distribution of Sample Means & Hypothesis Testing
November 5 & 6

NO RSVP IS NECESSARY. Just show up. Each 90-minute session is presented twice, on consecutive Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

There will be snacks. And it’s free.

All sessions will take place in the RLB Library lower level, room BL028. For further information, contact math@ubalt.edu.

The Pre-Stats Crash Course is brought to you by the fine folks in the Math Support Center, which, by the way, is where you will go for help when you take that stats course.
