Upper-Division Writing Placement
- John and Frances Angelos Law Center
By your second registration at UB, you should have already taken your Upper-division Writing Placement to ensure timely graduation and to enhance your academic performance in subsequent courses. In order to register for Advanced Expository Writing (WRIT 300)—an upper-division general education writing course required of all majors—you must either pass Practicum in Writing (WRIT 200) or score a 300 on the Upper-division Writing Placement Test. The placement, which can only be taken once, is administered by the Office of Academic Foundations and Transitions. You must R.S.V.P. for this test below. If there is no R.S.V.P. field below, then this section is full—please try another date, or contact Carey Miller (email@example.com) to attend the placement as a walk-in. Be sure to arrive a few minutes before the start time. Late arrivals will not be admitted. Bring a pen or pencil to the specified testing location. Click here for test instructions, grading criteria, and optional test preparation workshop dates. Sample prompts can be found in the FAQ section on the www.ubalt.edu/placement webpage. *This placement is not for freshmen or sophomores requiring WRIT 101. Call 410.837.5915 for questions pertaining to the placement.
