University of Baltimore School of Law Associate Professor Barbara Babb tells The Daily Record that a recent Maryland Court of Appeals' decision in a parental-rights termination case provides guidance for attorneys and judges working in this area of family law.
Babb, who also serves as director of UB's Sayra and Neil Meyerhoff Center for Families, Children and the Courts, said that these types of cases are "the most difficult cases judges have to decide" in civil litigation, and the Court of Appeals' ruling will assist legal experts working on similar cases in the future.
"The ultimate goal and the ultimate object is the best interest of the child," Babb said.
