The March 18 edition of The Baltimore Sun features an article about a group of University of Baltimore students who are competing in an international contest for financial analysts. The students, some undergraduates and some graduates in UB's Merrick School of Business, recently won the first round of the CFA Institute Investment Research Challenge. They bested their fellow students from several universities across Maryland and in Washington, D.C., in a contest to create and present the most effective equity research report and presentation about an actual publicly-traded company.
The group, consisting of five students and coached by Steve Isberg, associate professor of finance for the Merrick School of Business, is now in Denver, Colo., for the next round of this international competition.
