A group of six graduate students from the University of Baltimore's College of Public Affairs are capping off an intensive study of civic engagement, democracy and security in Latin America with a trip to Mexico City. Led by Carla Barqueiro, assistant professor in the School of Public and International Affairs, and Jose Fernandez Santillan, professor in the Department of Legal and Social Studies at Tecnologico de Monterrey and a former Fulbright Scholar in Residence at UB, the students are visiting with scholars and experts on course themes, checking out the city's many historical and political sites, and participating in organized social activities.
The students represent three masters programs in the College: Global Affairs and Human Security, Negotiation and Conflict Management, and Health Systems Management. They arrived in Mexico City on June 25 and will stay until July 2.
