Speaking to graduates of the University of Baltimore at its fall Commencement on Dec. 19, Federal Reserve System Chair Janet L. Yellen said they are entering the "strongest job market in a decade."
New York Times coverage of the event noted that "[t]he unemployment rate among Americans with college degrees was just 2.3 percent in November, a number that suggests employers are now competing for well-educated workers."
"'After years of a slow economic recovery, you are entering the strongest job market in nearly a decade,'" Yellen said.
Yellen served as keynote speaker at the Commencement, which saw hundreds of students graduate from UB's College of Public Affairs, Merrick School of Business and the Yale Gordon College of Arts and Sciences. She received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree.
