Human Services Graduate Featured on NBC Series

Verlando Brown, M.S. '15, a graduate of the Human Services Administration master's program in the University of Baltimore's College of Public Affairs, is part of NBCBLK28, a series celebrating young black innovators, pioneers and more. Brown is now the program coordinator for the Johns Hopkins Urban Health Institute. In the series, he is acclaimed as an urban health advocate.
"Meet the NBCBLK28: 28 innovators, vanguards, trendsetters, and pioneers under 28 years old. This year's crop is redefining what it means to be young, gifted & unapologetically Black. Follow their stories over the next 28 days," the website for the series says.
About Brown's work at Hopkins, the website notes: "His role is to help plan events, programs, and logistics around social issues in Baltimore. The Baltimore City native says his mother believed that education was the gateway to get out of poverty."
