Sonce Reese, a graduate student in the University of Baltimore's Global Affairs and Human Security graduate program, has been named the Clinton Global Initiative University Campus Representative at UB for 2018-19. In this role, Reese will promote the CGI U 2019 application and an event on the UB campus. Each year, CGI U brings together students, youth organization leaders, topic experts, and celebrities to create and implement Commitments to Action that address issues on campus, in local communities, and around the world.
Since 2008, students have made more than 6,250 commitments, and nearly $3 million in funding has been awarded to these activities through CGI U.
Details on Reese's proposal at UB will be announced shortly.
Last October, Reese joined more than 1,000 other college students from the U.S. and abroad at the CGI U event in Chicago, where she explored her proposal to more effectively manage small-scale disaster homelessness in Baltimore City.
