We hope you'll consider joining the UB Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa. We accept new applicants each Fall and Spring. We receive about 100 applications each semester, and typically accept about 25% of those applicants. In order to be considered for membership, please carefully review the following information and follow the directions below.
Applications to Omicron Delta Kappa require a completed online application form including essay.
Please carefully read the following before completing your application. Be aware that the application has TWO parts: data fields (i.e. Initiation Data, Personal Data, etc.) and an essay. The essay is mandatory for consideration into the ODK circle at the University of Baltimore and needs to be submitted in the “Optional – for additional Circle information if requested” box . Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

No application fee is due at the time of submission. Applicants selected to ODK will be charged an $80 lifetime membership fee, which is due at the time of new member orientation. $70 of this fee is paid directly to the national headquarters, and covers the cost of a membership certificate, recognition pin, and five-year subscription to The Circle, ODK's member newsletter. $10 of this fee will cover operating expenses for the UB Circle of ODK.
Timely and complete submission of applications is the responsibility of the applicant. Applicants may e-mail odk@ubalt.edu to confirm the receipt of an application, and will receive a response within 5 business days.
Applicants who are unsure about any of the application requirements should e-mail odk@ubalt.edu at least one week prior to the application deadline. Due to the large number of applications we receive, we cannot notify applicants about incomplete applications. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
Once submitted, all applications and application materials become the property of the ODK Circle at UB and will not be returned to the applicants. Applicants are advised to print a copy of their application for future reference.
To apply:
Complete the electronic ODK membership form. Please carefully review the Buckley Amendment Statement at the bottom of the online application prior to submitting it.
On the membership form, in the box marked "Optional - for additional Circle information if requested," write a brief essay answering the following questions:
- In your mind, what personifies a leader and how do you demonstrate these characteristics?
- In what ways have you intentionally impacted the University of Baltimore community through your leadership and involvement?
You may wish to write your essay in a word document. Your complete electronic application (including essay) must be submitted no later than 5pm on the announced due date. Applications without essays will not be reviewed. Essays must be submitted electronically, as a part of the online application.
Please do not submit any additional materials or supporting documentation. Other documents, and applications submitted in any other format than the format specified above, will not be reviewed.
Please note that the online application cannot be edited once it has been submitted. If you make a mistake or need to add any information, then you must submit an entirely new application.
