Peter Ramsey is a reference/instruction librarian in Langsdale Library at the University of Baltimore. He was previously reference and instruction librarian at Penn State University’s Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies.
During his master's education, Ramsey prepared a thesis paper on the use of social networks for workplace collaboration between librarians. Upon completing his graduate work, he was inducted into Beta Phi Mu, the International Library and Information Studies Honor Society.
At the University of Baltimore, Ramsey offers research assistance to students, faculty and other patrons of Langsdale Library. He offers course-related instruction for students in a variety of disciplines and teaches IDIS 110, a 3-credit course on information literacy for freshmen. He serves as a library liaison to faculty in the college's Division of Science, Information Arts and Technologies.
Ramsey’s research interests have recently focused on the adoption and use of Web technology for collaboration. However, as a reference librarian, he particularly enjoys assisting others in developing their own ideas and improving their research processes.
When not engaged in academic pursuits, Ramsey may be found enjoying bicycling and a variety of team sports, reading science fiction, cooking and baking, and exploring the richly varied city of Baltimore.
