Immerse yourself in the exciting, intriguing field of psychology, helping individuals or organizations overcome problems and pursue healthy lives.

How the program works:

You can choose from one of two tracks in this 42- to 48-credit Master of Science program:

  • Counseling Psychology Track

While completing all of the coursework required for the National Certified Counselor credential, you'll explore:

    • counseling theory and skills
    • advanced treatment methods
    • assessment
    • psychopathology and diagnosis
    • career development and more.

This includes the eight content areas tested in the National Counselor Exam, which is required for licensure as a clinical professional counselor throughout the United States. While in this program, you'll also begin accumulating the hours of supervised psychotherapy experience required by the state of Maryland to become a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC).

  • Industrial/Organizational Psychology Track

You'll focus on preparing yourself to facilitate effective leadership within organizations and to help those same organizations hire, train and motivate employees. You'll gain critical skills in:

    • collecting and analyzing data
    • observing work behavior
    • presenting results and recommendations to employers
    • managing, marketing and communicating.
You'll earn a master's degree that meets the requirements established by the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and you'll benefit from high-quality, paid internship opportunities throughout the region.
