Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership
The 12-credit graduate certificate in Nonprofit Leadership is designed to strengthen the qualifications and marketability of nonprofit leaders who do not have a nonprofit-focused graduate degree, but do have an undergraduate degree and practical industry experience.
As a student in this certificate program, you will take courses that will introduce you to the fundamental principles of the nonprofit industry, and expose you to financial management of nonprofits along with fundraising, grant writing and organizational leadership. - PUAD 734 Strategic Planning (3 credits)
- HSAD 600 Fundraising and Grant Writing (3 credits)
- GAHS 600 Managing NGOs (3 credits)
Admission Requirements
The following materials are required for admission into the Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership program:

Online application. Complete and submit the online application and pay the $50 application fee. Questions about the application should be directed to the Office of Graduate Admission (410.837.6565).

Personal statement. Detail your reasons for seeking a graduate certificate, your short-and long-term professional and personal goals, and how you think this certificate will help you achieve those goals. Please limit your statement to one page of text. Send the statement to documents@ubalt.edu.

Official transcripts. Request that an official transcript of all prior college or university work (including graduate transcripts, if any) be sent directly from each institution attended. Applicants to the Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership program are required to have a minimum GPA of 2.75. Transcripts can be sent electronically to documents@ubalt.edu.

Letter(s) of recommendation. Have at least one professor or employer submit a letter of recommendationon your behalf. The recommendation letter should be sent to documents@ubalt.edu.
