The University of Baltimore's M.F.A. in Creative Writing & Publishing Arts Spring Reading Series will present poet Charif Shanahan in a reading from his debut collection, Into Each Room We Enter Without Knowing, on Tuesday, April 4 at 7 p.m. in the Bogomolny Room in the UB Student Center, 21 W. Mt. Royal Ave. The event is free and open to the public.
Shanahan is a winner of the Crab Orchard First Book Poetry Prize. He has received awards and fellowships from the Academy of American Poets, the Cave Canem Foundation, the Frost Place, the Fulbright Program, the Millay Colony for the Arts, and the Starworks Foundation. A 2016 nominee for the Pushcart Prize, he is currently a Wallace Stegner Fellow in Poetry at Stanford University.
