A quick guide to the mandatory fees you pay and the programs and services they support:

Technology Fee
Technology Fee supports instructional and informational entrepreneurial efforts and technology projects related to the academic activities of our students and faculty. Part-time rate is $11 per credit hour and the full-time flat rate is $132.

Student Services Fee
Student Services Fee provides funding for a variety of co-curricular services, events and programming provided primarily through Student Affairs offices. Part-time rate is $23 per credit hour and the full-time flat rate is $276.

Auxiliary Operating Fee
Auxiliary Operating Fee supports the student center, parking facilities and operations, transportation services, conferences services, campus card operations and the University System of Maryland-mandated fund balance contribution. Part-time rate is $64 per credit hour and the full-time flat rate is $768 for 12 or more credits.

Student Government Association Fee
Student Government Association Fee supports the student governments, and the part-time and full-time rate is $25. This is for undergraduate and graduate students.

Student Bar Association Fee
Student Bar Association Fee supports the Student Bar Association, and the part-time and full-time rate is $37. This is for law and LL.M. students.

Laboratory Fees
Laboratory fees apply to certain courses. These are used to maintain and upgrade equipment and licenses and to provide consumable materials necessary for the course. The laboratory fee varies depending on the course.

Late Payment Fee
A $75 fee may be added to student accounts that are not paid in full by the scheduled due date for the term.

Late Registration Fee
If you register during the Late Registration Period, you will incur a $20 late fee.

Orientation Fee
The orientation fee supports expenses related to a variety of new student experiences. The one-time fee is $55 for undergraduate and graduate students.

Law Matriculation Fee
The matriculation fee covers administrative costs associated with continued enrollment and persistence at the University including the fees associated with graduation and commencement. This is a one-time fee of $140 charged to all students enrolling in a degree program at the School of Law in their first semester.
