As a member of the Professional Development Institute, you'll connect with a mentor who will help you explore your interests, set career goals and grow professionally.

As part of this certificate program, you will:
  • receive one-on-one mentoring from UB faculty, staff or alumni
  • build a customized plan for professional growth
  • create and polish your resume
  • prepare and practice for job interviews
  • develop comfort at public speaking
  • identify personal strengths and learn to maximize them
  • explore how diverse perspectives play a vital role in our global society

  • Confidentiality Statement

    As a result of trust that develops in a mentoring relationship, Professional Development Institute mentors may gain access to confidential information about UB students being mentored. Our program policy on confidentiality is that information shared with a mentor will be kept confidential, except in cases of disclosure about past or present child abuse or neglect, or when it becomes apparent that a mentee is in danger of doing harm to themselves or another person. Should that be the case, a mentor will inform the appropriate UB representative(s) so that preventative action may be taken.
