Allison Jennings-Roche was born and raised in Baltimore City and is a proud alumna of The University of Baltimore. Allison is a librarian and affiliate professor with a broad professional background in student affairs, fitness instruction, public libraries, and academic library support services; all of which inform her expansive conception of service in the field of librarianship. Her formal educational background in English literature, political science, legal and ethical Studies, library and information science, and organizational leadership provides the intellectual framework for the work of breaking down barriers to information literacy for all in our community.
Allison is passionate about civic engagement, data and information literacy, critical pedagogy, collaboration, and interdisciplinarity; and is thrilled to work at an institution where she gets to partner with truly inspiring people. In the fall of 2021, Allison will begin her Ph.D. in Information Studies at the University of Maryland, where she will research information policy, ethics and human rights.
