This time of warp-speed change energizes me as a teacher. The design industry reshapes itself on a regular basis, and professional roles within the industry have shifted considerably. Teaching in this field keeps me on my toes. New platforms and modes of communication are altering our lives and our world.
My career has traveled through print to Web to tiny screen and now pad. The core issues remain the same, no matter the platform. Why, what and to whom? It's the how that's changed significantly. Students come into the field knowing more than ever before, and they feed my curiosity. Working with them to understand conceptually, quickly process and feed their own creativity is stimulating and fun.
My work in the past few years has been in still and time-lapse photography, and recently, I've been working on stop-motion photo and illustration studies.
