Ph.D., B.A. University of Delaware
M.A., James Madison University
Rachael Baitch Zeleny received her Ph.D. in English from the University of Delaware in 2014; she also holds a Teaching Certificate in Secondary Education from Notre Dame of Maryland University, an M.A. in English Literature from James Madison University, and a B.A. in Art and English from the University of Delaware. She has served as writing program administrator at Alvernia University since 2014, directing the first-year writing program and coordinating the writing across the curriculum program. Her research and teaching experience spans English, writing, and the visual arts: as a graduate student at the University of Delaware, she curated a collection for the university’s museum, while also overseeing the writing center and supervising writing tutors. Her scholarship focuses on the rhetorical intersections of performance, the visual arts, and the classroom, especially as related to women and issues of gender. Her teaching here at UBalt will be split between English and arts courses, reflective of this interdisciplinary nature of her scholarship.
