The Office of Alumni Relations brings years of on- and off-campus event experience to the University community. Our goal is to create a highly interactive environment for alumni, which includes supplemental support of your alumni engagement activities.
Our office can partner with your unit to support your event goals by providing:
Advise on best practices and available resources based on scope of event.
Promote your event via Alumni web portals, including alumni event calendar and learning consortium and social media; and, when appropriate, other University channels. (Subject to schedule and space availability.)

Facilitate event announcement, invitations and RSVPs.

In order to foster healthy relationships with our graduates, The University of Baltimore aims to communicate strategically with alumni by carefully considering the timing, frequency and mode of communication.
All communication is based on a centralized alumni and donor database, which tracks and manages contact information and communication preferences, and must be coordinated directly through the Office of Alumni Relations.

When our graduates support UBalt in any way, we want to ensure we thank them for their efforts. Our office can identify an appropriate and personal way to recognize alumni in appreciation for their time, talent and treasure, such as providing thank you cards and gifts.
Alumni Volunteer Recognition
You can report engagement with UBalt alumni by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Please be sure to include their name(s) and any relevant details of their support.
The Office of Alumni Relations is responsible for tracking individual alumni volunteer activity and special interests. These activities can range from serving on a board or advisory council or lending their participation to a lecture, panel or workshop to hosting events, mentoring students or simply providing a testimonial or quote for a feature story in a UBalt publication.
We ask that you please share the names of alumni who you have recruited to participate in your programming or activity so that their official alumni record can be updated.

If you are interested in participating in Backpack to Briefcase, please include the course name, class meeting time and preferred date(s) for the presentation. If you already have an alumnus(a) in mind, we can assist with coordination and day of arrangements.
Alumni guests are given top priority when coming to campus for an on-site visit. Our office can make certain arrangements to ensure the comfort of your program graduates who come to campus or participate in a virtual program. Contact the Alumni Relations team in advance of their visit by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org so we can coordinate their visit.
Our office can:
- Confirm contact information including (premarital) name and class year.
- Provide an alumni "thank you” prior to their arrival.
- Provide an on-campus parking pass. (Subject to availability; space location not reserved or guaranteed.)
- Promote and advertise the event (if applicable).
We ask our campus partners to follow these best practices for visits:
- Alert the Office of Alumni Relations of alumni visits in advance. Virtual and in-person events.
- Include alumni class years in promotional materials, per UBalt Brand and Style Guidelines. Our office will happily provide this information.
- Share any information you may have collected, including participation details updated contact information, current employment, etc. with the Office of Alumni Relations.
- Send the Office of Alumni Relations copies of photos or content from the visit.
- Personally, and graciously, thank alumni for their participation.
Accurate alumni data and contact information are important to everyone in the UBalt community. The Office of Advancement and External Relations manages and stewards all university alumni data, ensuring that all university departments and programs have trust in and access to reliable alumni data and interactions through alumni relations.
We depend on strong relationships with our graduates to help facilitate authentic learning opportunities for students, as well as reciprocal partnerships and collaborations in Baltimore and beyond. To properly maintain these relationships, our office relies on up-to-date information. Individual class note and update submissions, data pulled from advancement research sources, and updates given by university partners are all used to keep alumni information up to date.
