Schaefer Ctr. for Public Policy Announces Latest Graduates of Maryland Certified Public Manager Program

The Schaefer Center for Public Policy has announced the latest cohort to graduate from its Maryland Certified Public Manager Program. Last month, the 18 public managers, all from Baltimore City and Baltimore County, presented their capstone projects, marking their completion of the program.
Over the past 10 months, participants applied the skills they learned in the program to solve a public management challenge facing their organization. The results of their work are documented in capstone papers and executive briefings that were delivered to an expert audience. Guests at the Oct. 27 event included speakers Baltimore County Administrative Officer Stacy Rodgers and City of Baltimore Chief Administrative Officer Faith Leach.

The Maryland Certified Public Manager Program is a 10-month, 300-hour professional development program, designed especially for public sector managers. It is offered exclusively by the Schaefer Center for Public Policy at The University of Baltimore. The program provides participants with the opportunity to gain the comprehensive, applied management skills needed to meet the complex demands and challenges of the 21st century.
The program's mission is to promote excellence in public management by providing comprehensive training in the core competencies of public sector management. The program leverages the expertise of faculty of UBalt's College of Public Affairs and practitioners to deliver an academically grounded and relevant curriculum that promotes cross-sector collaboration and prepares candidates for the work of today and the challenges of tomorrow. The program is accredited by the National Certified Public Manager Consortium and is one of 44 CPM programs across the United States and the Netherlands.
