The highly acclaimed Monument Trio—violinist Igor Yuzefovich, cellist Dariusz Skoraczewski and pianist Michael Sheppard—will perform works by Brahms, Shostakovich and Schoenfield on Monday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. in the University of Baltimore's Lucy and Vernon Wright Performing Arts Theater in the Student Center, 21 W. Mt. Royal Ave. It's the latest event in Spotlight UBalt's 2011-12 season.
After a critically acclaimed debut, the Monument Trio was invited to be the first artists-in-residence at An die Musik in Baltimore. Coming from various award-winning musical backgrounds, each artist in the ensemble brings a unique style to the group, creating a distinctive sound that one critic described as "one intricately voiced stream of music, taking the audience through lands of wonder, worry, pleasure and pain."
