What Is Pre-Tax Parking?
Pre-tax parking is a way to to pay for your parking plan through payroll deductions. A pre-determined amount will be deducted from your bi-weekly pay throughout the year instead of paying for the permit in full at the time of purchase.
Pre-Tax Eligibility
The pre-tax payment option is only available to "regular" employees. This excludes contingent employees, contractors and external partners. Click here to view pre-tax parking rates.(Rates are annual, and please note that parking is no longer available at the Maryland Avenue Garage.)
To sign-up for pre-tax parking, complete and submit a pre-tax payroll authorization form to the UBalt Parking Office located in the Academic Center, room 105.
This form will authorize payments for parking from your regular pay, before tax. A digital copy of this form is available in the "helpful links" section of this page. A physical copy can be obtained in the Office of Human Resources, Charles Royal, 3rd Floor.
After your pre-tax payroll authorization form has been received, the UBalt Parking Office will program your Bee Card. We will notify the Fitzgerald garage to give you access. The University of Baltimore does not manage the Fitzgerald Garage, so all parking plans are activated by a third-party contractor (PMI) and can take up to 4 weeks to be activated. There are no other registration or actions required to sign-up for pretax.
*NOTE: You do not need to re-enroll for pre-tax parking, if you were enrolled in the previous year and did not cancel.
**NOTE: If you Bee Card doesn't give you access, pull a ticket and park. Before returning to the garage, contact the Bee Card Office (Parking@ubalt.edu) to validate your ticket.
