Wireless Network

UB offers wireless Internet access in 8 campus locations. Access is provided to current UB students, faculty and staff. The UB community can access the Internet, wireless printing to computer lab printers, personal e-mail through IMAP or POP connections, file transfers, instant messaging, and other Internet services while using the UB wireless network.

You can connect to the UB wireless using one of two methods:

  • ubalt-secure (recommended, secure option)
  • ubalt-guest

The wireless network ubalt-secure provides a secure wireless connection to the UB network. You will need to setup a connection to this network if you want to use it while on campus. Because you enter your netID and password into the connection, you need to remember to update your password in the wireless connection profile whenever your change your netID password. Instructions for connecting are provided below.
