Classroom Video Conferencing
A fully-equipped video conferencing room is available on campus. This
room can be reserved for distance learning classes, meetings or other
events requiring interactive video sessions. In addition to the video
network, the room also offers a VCR, DVD player, computer, and document
camera. Contact the OTS Call Center to reserve this room.
Portable Video Conference System
Any campus location with a network jack can become your video conference
room, using the portable video conference system. This delivers the
same interactive video experience as the setup in Langsdale, only it
provides the flexibility of bringing the video conference to your
preferred campus location.
IVN - University System of Maryland's Interactive Video Network
Using a connection to the University System of Maryland’s Interactive
Video Network (IVN) you can participate in a video conference with any
of the other USM schools. IVN sessions may be used for meetings or
classes.
Pricing & Scheduling
Video conferencing services are free for academic and administrative
events when the connection is over IP or IVN. ISDN connections incur
additional fees which can be very expensive; you or your department are
responsible for ISDN connection fees.
Please contact us at least 2 business days prior to your video conferencing event. For all rooms other than Langsdale Library 400, schedule the room as you normally would through Auxiliary Enterprises, then contact us to discuss the details of the video conference. Priority is given to classes/lectures when scheduling video conferences.
