Professor Honored for Excellence in Management Education

William Carter, an associate professor of strategic management at the University of Baltimore's Merrick School of Business, has received the prestigious Mid-Career Distinguished Educator Award from The Management and Organizational Behavior Teaching Society (MOBTS). The award recognizes Carter's significant contributions and leadership in management education.

 

His impact in several key areas was the basis for Carter's selection for the competitive award:

Dr. Carter specializes in teaching Strategic Management, the capstone course that culminates each business school program. He's passionate about helping students synthesize their diverse educational backgrounds and work experiences. His goal is to provide them with a "big picture" understanding of how to analyze and manage organizational performance effectively. Dr. Carter has also been at the forefront of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into his classrooms. He uses AI not only to advance students' technical skills but also as a powerful tool to enhance their learning, both in his class and throughout their careers.
